Well I did this week....Took my brand new car in for it 15k check up, all went well fine and dandy!
Untill this dumb blonde went and got gas for the week..it's just putting gas in right? (don't take a rocket scientist). Well in my case maybe I should oh had that bright mind scientist fill the car for me! So anyway, I fill up and head to work. Nothing different so far. Come Monday morning I am freaking out. Freaking out as in run back in the house as a mad woman yelling for my husband to get up now and see what's wrong with this darn car. I didn't care if he had to go out in the dar at 5am in his jp's (unders) just get out there and see what the heck is wrong! I mean come on it's a new car how could this happen?? So he takes his sleepy good ol time rubbing the sleep from his eyes (in the meantime I am getting more angry that he is ever so slow) gets outside to see what the problem is. I tell him all I did was start the car as I always do and it was going bonkers on me. Telling him that is was jerking and putting so I turned it off. His responce..."yea ok". Hello sleepyhead wake up! We have a major-malfunction here! The check engene light is on....So I get my Whatever attitude and take off. I get a text from the ever so sweet hubby asking how is the car running. I respond good I guess untill it blows up! Yes, needless to say I was in a bit of a hissy fit about this whold check engine light. But wouldn't you freak on a NEW car to???
So later that day I get home and he has called the dealer. They say to bring the car in the following eveing....The following evening....OMG what if it takes a crap in me by then??? Nothing like a cocktail to calm the day down.
So we made it to the following day. I had to get gas once again...I fill up and head to work!.Light is still on and bugging the heck out of me. Still as I drive I am freaking out thinking this car is going to blow up and leave me stranded on the side of a freeway!
..I head out straight from the office and ZOOM-ZOOM to the dealer!
Get to the parking garage and start the car. What no check engine light??? How odd is that? OH well I head to the dealer as I said I would. They take my car back and with in a few min. they come to tell me to make sure that gas cap is on all the way! Really!!! Only me, oh only me!
I get on the road and tell my hubby I am on my way home. He text asking what did they find wrong with the car. I didn't dare to respond too fast. I played in my mind if I should tell him it was my silly blonde moment or a small fib. On the 45 min. drive home I play around of what I can tell him. I walk in and he asked again...So here it comes............Hun, I didn't have the gas cap on tight. He cracks up at me and said we went through all that for YOU not making sure the gas cap was on all the way! Ummm yup.
What I can say about all this is Hyundai is a great car and the people are so sweet. I am sure they are laughing at me..Ok cracking up at me...but they make sure to help someone no matter how silly the situatuin is.
I myself am cracking up about the whole thing as well....I should have known better. I mean come on I grew up as a garage grease monkey. I learned a lot from my father about cars....But it goes to show we all have that "MOMENT". Oh and I got a car wash out of it! So in the end it was all good! Glad to be done with all of that.
On a good note....Saturday is my 11 YEAR anniversary! Wow time goes by way too fast.
